We are pleased to announce that Emma Simpson and Tony Minter are joining the symposium programme, with their presentation “Matching and making: Brick selection for conservation repairs”
Heritage bricklayer and brick conservator Emma Simpson (Simpson Brickwork Conservation Ltd.) and Tony Minter of Bulmer Brick & Tile Company will discuss their work together on over the years, with a particular case study of a project they worked on together for Historic Royal Palaces.
Bullmer Brick & Tile is a small family business working to maintain the traditions of brickmaking on their Suffolk site dating back to the Middle Ages. All Bulmer bricks are handmade, using traditional methods of making and drying, and are fired in a coal burning, down draught kiln.
